Have you been diagnosed with conditions like “Sciatica,” “Herniated disc,” “Spinal Stenosis,” or “Arthritis”?

Is your injury interfering with your ability to work or preventing you from enjoying your favorite activities?

Does sciatica pain limit the time you spend with your loved ones?

Low back pain is a prevalent reason for doctor visits, second only to the common cold. Unfortunately, many people who experience back pain once are likely to face it again!

The problem lies in the abundance of confusing messages about the best treatments for back pain. Patients often find themselves moving from one doctor to another or trying multiple therapy programs with little or no improvement. In some cases, individuals opt for surgery, only to experience devastating results and worsened back pain!

Enter the revolutionary treatment that can make a significant difference in understanding how a “HERNIATED DISC” can cause a domino effect leading to back pain!

First, a herniated disc in the spine may result from bad posture, spinal misalignment, or weakened muscles failing to support the spine.

Second, this herniated disc can worsen over time, putting pressure on or irritating nerves exiting the spine, such as the sciatic nerve. The sciatic nerve, the body’s longest nerve, extends from the lower spine down into the leg and branches into the foot. Irritation of this nerve due to a herniated disc in the low back leads to sciatica, a condition involving leg pain. The pain is often described as a “toothache” with sharp, stabbing or electric shock-like sensations down the leg or foot. Leg cramps and sensations of “pins and needles” are also common.

As the herniated disc worsens, it becomes increasingly inflamed, releasing chemicals that further irritate the nerve, leading to muscle spasms in the back and leg.

If not aggressively treated early on, the pain can heighten sensitivity to pain, causing the brain to focus and tune into pain even more over time. This makes the pain increasingly difficult to manage and can interfere with work, daily life, and even lead to depression.

At NoraCare, we offer cutting-edge diagnostics, including Electromyography (EMG) and musculoskeletal ultrasound for precise evaluations.

Our specialized medical care involves physicians with expertise in NON-SURGICAL techniques for back pain. We employ various spine injections, such as EPIDURAL INJECTIONS, FACET INJECTIONS, or NERVE BLOCKS, to guide patients on the right treatment path.

Our comprehensive approach includes chiropractic manipulation, traction, and posture correction, combined with laser therapy, electrical stimulation, and other modalities for immediate pain relief.

Furthermore, we offer medical acupuncture as an effective alternative to medications, procedures, and surgery. Medicare patients can benefit from acupuncture for treating chronic low back pain, and it can also help with headaches, joint pain, and neck pain.

When it comes to managing your pain effectively, trust NoraCare to provide personalized, specialized care tailored to your needs. Contact us today to take control of your pain and get back to living life to the fullest.

Universal Pain Assessment Tool for Effective Patient Care at NORACARE

Understanding the Pain Scale: We recognize that some patients may misunderstand the pain scale, so we provide a clear guide for better comprehension. We encourage patients to imagine engaging in a favorite hobby or activity. If the pain becomes forgettable during enjoyable moments like watching a movie or listening to music, it is classified as a maximum of 4/10 pain. When the pain reaches 5/10, it becomes less forgettable but still allows the patient to function and complete activities. However, once the pain is graded at 6/10 or higher, it becomes severe enough to impede any activity and cannot be ignored, regardless of the situation.

At NORACARE, we consider 10/10 pain as the worst possible pain, rendering patients unable to perform essential functions like walking or getting out of bed. In cases where the pain consistently disables patients, a spine injection may be necessary to reduce the pain intensity from a “7-8/10” level to a more manageable 2-4/10.

The Burning House Analogy: We utilize a “burning house” analogy to illustrate the nature of back pain. We view back pain as a burning house, and an epidural injection acts as a water hose to extinguish the flames. However, we emphasize that this is not a complete cure. After the immediate relief from the injection, the “burnt house” requires further attention, such as chiropractic treatments, therapeutic exercises, and medical acupuncture, to rebuild and protect it from future pain.

The Importance of Timely Spine Injections: In certain patients, timely spine injections play a crucial role in pain management. Waiting too long to receive the injection can make it much more challenging to treat back pain effectively. Delaying treatment is akin to a burning house with spreading flames, making it difficult to regain control over pain levels (3, 4, 5).

At NORACARE, we understand the unique nature of pain management for each patient and tailor our approach to suit individual needs. With our comprehensive pain assessment tool and personalized treatment plans, we strive to improve patients’ quality of life and provide effective relief from pain. Contact us today to schedule an assessment and take the first step towards a pain-free and fulfilling life.
